Welcome to New Street Dental Care

Hello I’m Julian I have wanted to be a dentist since I was 9 years old!

I live in Andover and I have finally achieved my dream; to build a modern dental practice for both myself and my two daughters who run New Street Dental Care with me.

I wanted to run a practice with care and quality being of most importance and making sure we keep that personal touch for our patients so as I could provide great service, support and patient care with my daughters by my side.

We are passionate about providing the best dental care for you so that you enjoy the best possible dental health throughout your life.

My daughters are Chloe and Clarissa who have also dedicated their work into looking after our community and further afield. We work as a way of life as we all love our dentistry!

Our team have an emphasis on preventative care to help you minimise the need for active treatments. We follow the modern principle of minimal intervention dentistry to ensure our work lasts for many years. It is carried out in a caring and supportive environment.

Let me introduce you to our team….

The Pride of Andover Awards makes sure we all know about our town’s unsung heroes; the people who make such a big difference to so many lives but who are so often ‘just getting on with it’.

With a range of different categories, the awards honour outstanding citizens in the local community as a way of saying ‘thank you’ from everyone living or working in Andover and the surrounding villages.

I have known Julian for 40 years since we trained in Guy’s dental school together and am very pleased and excited to be joining him and the team at New Street Dental Care.

After qualifying in 1985 and a couple of years in hospital dentistry gaining Maxillo-Facial experience, I have been in private general practice ever since with breaks to have my family, two boys and a girl, all now grown up!!
In 2018, I  gained a diploma in Forensic Human Identification which along with Forensic Odontology, is a field which I am very interested in and more recently I have gained a Diploma in Prosthodontics with Professor Paul Tipton at Tipton Training, continuing to increase my knowledge in current advancements in dentistry.

I enjoy all aspects of dentistry especially making dentures and treating nervous patients. I very much look forward to meeting and caring for the patients of the practice.

Miss Shannon Durrans

Trainee Dental Nurse

” I knew I wanted to be a nurse when I visited Portsmouth hospital with my medical science class at college. After looking around the hospital and seeing how rewarding it is to be a nurse, I knew from then on that this is where I wanted to start my career. I chose dental nursing as I have always been happy to go to the dentist but there are lots of patients who are really apprehensive and anxious and I knew that I would be able to reassure people and put them at ease. I also wanted to learn and understand the science of dentistry to allow me to progress in my future career. From my apprenticeship, I gain a broad range of skills by supporting the team in all aspects of patient care as well as gaining my nursing qualification. ”

Miss Amiee Ventham

Trainee Dental Nurse
” I’ve always known I wanted to help people and I feel dental nursing is a great way to do so “

Mrs Jeena Gharti

Trainee Dental Nurse
“The care for patients is one of the best I have seen and I love to help and support. I became a dental nurse to help build people’s confidence whilst achieving the smile they desire. Working at New Street Dental Care is like working with your ‘dental family’ and I just love how we all work together to get the best results for our patients. Also, I love working at New Street Dental Care because they put the care of the staff, patients above all else, encourage open communication, provide safety, support carer growth and offer to help. Compared to other professions, dental nursing is a fantastic progression path within the industry through further training. Also, I am really enjoying my course and would love to gain some practical experience in a clinic environment. I feel that my training and communication skills make my nursing fantastic. I am confident in all of the responsibilities in all of the job descriptions and my personal skills will allow me to make patients comfortable during their visit. This is great for those looking at the long-term plan for their career and those who wish to work their way up the ladder through continued learning, experience and hard work.”
